Meeting with the Heirs and Custodians of the Historic Vernatun Legacy

  • Date: October 27
  • Location: VERNATOUN powered by Keron

Ahead of Avetik Isahakyan’s birthday, VERNATOUN will bring together the descendants of the historic Vernatun’s members and representatives of their house-museums, who continue to preserve and pass on its legacy.

Founded by Hovhannes Tumanyan in 1899, the historic Vernatun brought together prominent intellectuals of the time: Hovhannes Tumanyan, Avetik Isahakyan, Levon Shant, Derenik Demirchyan, and Ghazaros Aghayan. Their gatherings and creative exchanges left a profound and irreplaceable mark on Armenian intellectual and cultural life.

More than a century later, we will reflect together on the legacy of the historic Vernatun, the continuity of ideas across generations, and the importance of keeping cultural memory alive. This gathering will also offer a unique opportunity to connect the spirit of the historic Vernatun with the community taking shape today, continuing the Armenian tradition of intellectual gatherings.
